Snow Snow Snow and more yep you've guessed it SNOW!!!

Well well well, the cold, wet, white stuff is here again, and I'm not talking about the milk;
although we could store the contents of the fridge outside, quite safely at the moment.
The kids have played in it. (their clothes, boots, etc etc are hanging in disarray around our house in testament to their exploits) Will(hubby) has finally put up the homemade bird house that the smallest members of our house designed, made and painted with daddy, last week. Strangely enough they were just in time, as the birds are now flocking to it on mass.
The pictures 1,2 & 3 are from our decking all taken within moments of eachother, and this explains why I have not taken any pics of my current cards as the light is so diffused and confused.
The last pic I took this morning whilst making some coffee for Will and I, from my kitchen window, it hasn't stopped snowing for long today and as I type it is snowing so fast the road has disappeared again in seconds, have only seen maybe 3 cars down/up it today, and one of those was our Jeep, checking neighbours had all that they needed, then doing a journey into town to collect varying produce from coal, papers and eggs to toothpaste.
Hope everyone is keeping warm indoors, and if not, enjoying their fun in the snow outside in the right clothing as no one wants frostbite this early in the season. (Good grief, I sound like my mum and for that matter of fact my gran eek!)
Well I'm off to go and sit by my lovely little pot belly stove, I shall have to move two cosy doggies if I want to get any where near it, but I'm sure they will scoosh up.
Hugs to you all and thanks for following, although after this little pile of musings you may not want to anymore!

SnowBaubles

This card came about when I was playing with my sizzix machine, I got a couple of sheets with folds and lined them up so that I would have a part of the tree uncut to act as an edge, then I glued the paper together to make it stronger and decorated, I used a baubles stamp then cut out each of them, coloured and hung them on the tree. Then I added a couple of snowflake brads and draped some glittery glue onto the main body of the tree. This die has not been used for a couple of years or so, as it was in the box that was mislaid in the loft (dearest hubby of course, love him to pieces fortunately!) so it was lovely to play about with it.

Squiggle Stamps Li'l Angel - Cute eh?

This is another one of Squiggle Stamps gorgeous range, this one is from this years christmas offerings IT IS STAMP OF THE MONTH at Squiggle Stamps and as such is on at a GREAT PRICE and is perfect if you are needing a quick card as she takes such a short time to colour, glitz and glam. Here I have coloured her in mainly, with Rose Pink and Blossom Promarkers, with a little Apricot for contrast. I have mounted her onto a circle centre and added sweet little parrots with heart gems. I have followed a sketch and used ribbons in each of the corners and faux stitching.

Happy Hoppy Hedgy

I love this penny black image, I have coloured hedgy and his bouncy balloon in with my promarkers, I have followed a sketch and a colour combo, I have embossed with a tim holtz folder and edged liberally with a black pigment chalk (or slightly distressed).
I have stamped out best wishes for the sentiment and used a gorgeous bright orange ribbon as a vibrant contrast to the grungy orange that I embossed. I also added a panel of embossed white card (papermania folder) for even more texture. The faux stitching finishes this card off, and I thoroughly enjoyed making this one.

With Hedgy Love at Christmas

I have coloured this image with a mixture of promarkers and chalks, not sure if I like the finished result or not. I have liberally edged every thing in sight, and added some white high-lights to the roses. I have followed a sketch and again used some papermania papers, really like the way they combine.

Cuddly elephant christmas cheer

I have made this card using a penny black image, coloured with my promarkers and have followed a sketch. The papers are papermania and I have popped on a spotty ribbon to bring the colours up a little. My house seems so dismal today, even though the sun is out and about, it is only 1 or 2 degrees and the light for photos is terrible. So I used this image as it always makes me smile.

Thursday, 11 November 2010

When I was round at my friends house the other morning, she very kindly let me stamp a couple of images, including this one, isn't she gorgeous, I just knew what I was going to do with her at once. I have coloured her in with my promarkers and added highlights with my papermania white pen. I have decorated a tin with some sparkle card, this image and lots of snowflakes and some ribbon. I added some glitter to her hat (which I decoupaged onto the original image) and cut out winter wishes using a sizzlit die. Then I made a card to tie in with the tin.

Mini Spinny Butterflies

I have made this cheery thankyou card for a friend, who has helped us out over this last year with one thing or another, I have used a magnolia image, followed a sketch, coloured in with my promarkers, used a border punch and a sizzlits die for the thanks sentiment. I made up a couple of butterfly charms using some headpins and some tibetan silver butterfly beads. I added a little colour to the butterfly with my promarkers and twisted the headpins to form antennae.

Inside the card I have made a wee window for a butterfly and added another sizzlits diecut sentiment. I have layered up an area to add your words, chalking edges as I went.
